About This Site

Finding a Monroe County booking record starts with the office that created or keeps it. This private reference site organizes the official routes for the sheriff, the Monroe County Detention Facility, city police, courts, state custody, and written records requests. It does not host booking-photo galleries or claim to be an official record system.

Why Monroe County Sources Matter

Mississippi public-record rules can make some arrest and booking information available, but the correct custodian depends on the question. The Monroe County Sheriff’s Office operates the county jail and maintains the jail docket. A municipal police department may hold an arrest report. The Mississippi Department of Corrections serves a different purpose, showing state-custody information for people in that system. Courts hold the later case information.

This site brings those routes together in plain language. It explains that no stable public Monroe County live roster or official booking-photo feed was verified during the research, so a telephone check or a narrow written request may be needed. It does not copy, store, or display booking photographs.

What the Guide Covers

Each page is designed to help a reader choose a source and understand the boundary of that source.

  • The county booking and custody guide explains the sheriff route, a written public-records request, court follow-up, and the distinction between booking, custody, release, and state custody.
  • The Most Wanted Fugitives page separates the official statewide wanted list from a Monroe County jail record and describes safe warrant-verification routes.
  • City pages explain the different paths for Amory, Aberdeen, and Nettleton, including the Monroe and Lee County boundary issue for Nettleton.
  • Records guidance identifies the Sheriff’s Office, municipal agencies, Monroe Justice Court, the Circuit Clerk, MDOC, and Mississippi’s public-records guidance as distinct sources.

What This Site Cannot Do

Monroe County Busted Mugshots is privately operated. It is not connected to the Monroe County Sheriff’s Office, the Monroe County Detention Facility, any Mississippi police department, a court, a corrections department, or another government agency. It cannot hold, release, or transfer a person; post bond; arrange a visit; send funds; give legal advice; or promise that an address, fee, or office procedure has not changed.

Only the responsible sheriff, jail, court, or corrections office can confirm a current custody status, an official charge, a release, or the availability of a record.
